Velvet Guerin

Owner/Executive Director Wanting to make a difference in the daily care of young children, Velvet left the corporate world to pursue a career in early childhood education. After earning her Child Development Associate Credential in 1998 from the NAEYC, Velvet then started working in the field as a teacher. Out of a desire to create a place where children could go every day and feel safe, have enjoyment, and feel comfortable with their caregivers, she opened Precious Angels in 1999 and has been Director there since. She is proud of the home-like environment and small-town feel of the Center and enjoys meeting and talking with parents within the communities it serves. What she loves most of all about working with young children is the smiles and expressions they make when they've done or seen something for the first time, "the joy makes it all worthwhile." Velvet has five of her own children and two grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys sewing, crafting, scrapbooking, home decorating, hiking, and singing.
